Online Acting Classes for Kids during COVID-19

Like many other arts companies and small businesses, Storybook Theatre has been forced to temporarily close our building for in-person classes and events. We rely on income from classes and performances to keep our theatre enrichment program running. We also just really MISS being with your students and know that they miss being able to be in our creative space, too.
As a result, we have developed the following options to support our families during this time when we are all sheltering at home to stay safe during this pandemic. We would love to be able to interact with your students virtually, until we can get back into the theatre together!
The world of online learning may be new for some, but we are excited to join you and provide a continued education in the theatrical arts for your students during this time.
Students may participate virtually from ANYWHERE, so this class is not limited to our local Kansas City area families. This is a fun opportunity to do a class with a friend who may live far away from you - feel free to invite them to join us!
(Julie (our instructor) says: please note that I am at home with my two kids and our cat and that all three of them very often make appearances during Zoom class calls!!!)
Virtual Production Class - ages 7-14
In this all-virtual class, students will join their peers for the following activities (and more):
-Weekly group Zoom calls with an instructor and other students
-Virtual Classroom to view assignments and upload content
-Challenges for learning monologues, practicing diction, and showing emotion
-Virtual Reader's Theatre (via Zoom)
-Participate in a brand-new acting and musical theatre production which will be recorded in separate videos by students in their homes, then combined for a final product that can be shared with family and friends!
-Ability to interact with friends via Zoom and Virtual Classroom
There are multiple times available for the weekly Zoom class meeting.
To register for the class, just select the default time (right now it is set for April 18) and complete the registration form. After you have registered, you will receive an email with details on how to select your Zoom class time. All other activities can be completed at ANY time from your home.

Virtual production will be released during or at the end of that week to share with friends/family!
Class Cost: $100
Virtual Rising Stars - ages 4-7
Mondays 5:30-6:15pm
Classes run now through May 18
In this all-virtual class, students will join their peers for the following activities (and more):
-Weekly group Zoom calls with an instructor and other students
-Participate in a virtual end of semester production (likely some sort of puppet show)
-Action songs, storytelling, practicing emotions
Register now to begin classes this week. New students may join through April 11!
Virtual production will be released during at the end of the semester to share with friends/family!
Class Cost: $36/monthly or $60 for April/May tuition if paid up front.
