Storybook Teen Performance Classes

Storybook Teen Classes are for ages 13-18.
If student's 13th birthday falls during the current semester, they are eligible to participate;
however, if they are a first-time student, we recommend starting with the age 7-13 group first.

Students may still participate during the summer after high school graduation if they choose.

Each performance class runs approximately 10-12 weeks.
Please read full schedule of rehearsals and performances before registering.
Each student who registers will receive a speaking role in the production.

Registration will close when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
Auditions on the first night of class will determine part distribution.

No previous acting experience required to participate.

Students should plan to prepare a monologue for auditions.
Parents will be asked to assist during tech week by donating supplies, assisting when needed
or bringing meal items for the cast during rehearsals.

An amateur theatrical group’s final dress rehearsal of Cinderella is a disaster: Cinderella is late, the prompter wants to play all the parts, the sassy stage crew is noisy, the author feels her brainchild is being ruined, and the director is distraught. The stepsisters miss cues, sound effects are played at the wrong speed, the messenger crashes her bicycle, and the fairy godmother can’t find her wand. Final Dress Rehearsal is among the most popular plays for high school production according to the International Thespian Society.

 Stiff competition from nearby Medieval World threatens to drive the annual Renaissance Faire out of business.  Attendance is plunging, especially at the traditional Shakespeare production.  Who wants to spend three hours on a wooden bench watching a play they don’t understand?  To survive, the faire needs a new vibe that appeals to younger audiences.  Enter a new director and her plan to stage a program called ”Great Death Scenes from Shakespeare.”  It seems like a killer idea, until the famous Shakespearean actor playing Romeo goes missing, and he is replaced by a brash, young actor of questionable talent.  As a major storm approaches, the missing actor is found murdered most foul.  Someone, it seems, believes the pen is not as mighty as the sword.  ”Great Death Scenes from Shakespeare” is about to get real.  Very real.
