Storybook Teen Performance Classes

Storybook Teen Classes are for ages 13-18.
If student's 13th birthday falls during the current semester, they are eligible to participate;
however, if they are a first-time student, we recommend starting with the age 7-13 group first.

Students may still participate during the summer after high school graduation if they choose.

Each performance class runs approximately 10-12 weeks.
Please read full schedule of rehearsals and performances before registering.
Each student who registers will receive a speaking role in the production.

Registration will close when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
Auditions on the first night of class will determine part distribution.

No previous acting experience required to participate.
Parents will be asked to assist during tech week by donating supplies, assisting when needed
or bringing meal items for the cast during rehearsals.

This semester's performance will be a double-feature!
Both shows will be presented at the performance, with an intermission between them.
Students may participate in BOTH productions for a discounted rate of $150 per show
(total tuition $300 for both productions -
see add-on feature on registration form).

  When the audience shows up to a rehearsal unexpectedly, the cast of ’The Bremen Town Musicians’ decides the show must go on even though opening night is a week away!  Actors scramble for found objects to serve as props and costume pieces while others worry about not knowing their lines.  Luckily, since the characters aren’t really musicians, the only music involved is a simple rhyme with stomping and clapping, and it doesn’t even have to be sung well!  The know-it-all squirrel narrator, Squire, bosses the others around while the vain bird Flinch gets his feathers — er, feather — ruffled when he keeps barging onstage demanding a part in the show!  The set and costumes are slowly ’built’ before our eyes as the play progresses.  The show gets on the road, but not without comedic speed bumps along the way!  The interruptions, squabbles and oversized egos don’t slow them down, they only make for more laughs!  With a little creativity and teamwork, the acting troupe pulls off the heartwarming story of four woebegone animals who find friendship, foil a gang of robbers, and live happily ever after!

A group of club-women try to entertain a high-hat woman novelist. Everything goes wrong, and the poor women are in despair trying to make conversation. One member, to show up the bluffs of the novelist and her own fellow-members, starts everyone talking about “Xingu.” No one knows what this is, but no one will admit it. During the squabble the novelist slips away with the woman who mentioned “it” —or “him” —and the others are forced to ask the maid, who knows “of course” that Xingu is a river!
