Storybook Teen Performance Classes

Storybook Teen Classes are for ages 13-18.
If student's 13th birthday falls during the current semester, they are eligible to participate;
however, if they are a first-time student, we recommend starting with the age 7-13 group first.

Students may still participate during the summer after high school graduation if they choose.

Each performance class runs approximately 10-12 weeks.
Please read full schedule of rehearsals and performances before registering.
Each student who registers will receive a speaking role in the production.

Registration will close when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
Auditions on the first night of class will determine part distribution.

No previous acting experience required to participate.
Parents will be asked to assist during tech week by donating supplies, assisting when needed
or bringing meal items for the cast during rehearsals.

Sleazy Tab Lloyd, a nasty villain, is running for mayor, but Miss Aspen Print won’t endorse him.  Instead, she writes articles supporting his opponent, an honest, yet highly opinionated politician named Edward Torial.  Lloyd has two allies, a cabbage head accomplice named Panhandle and a clever jewel thief by the name of Chiffon Delure (watch out for her!).  Naturally, Sheriff Jack Newsworthy is in love with Aspen.  But being predictable doesn’t spoil a melodrama’s fun!  You’re audiences will watch what happens when Lloyd wins the election via trickery.  They’ll see what happens when a Pony Express rider shows up without his pony!  They’ll gasp as the mystery of Swampwater Sam is solved.  They’ll applaud good citizens like Mrs. Pickles, Mrs. Grisley, and sleepwalking Granny.  And they’ll shudder as freedom of the press is threatened when Sleazy Tab Lloyd gains control of “The Clarion” and stuffs each issue with utter nonsense:  ’Man-Eating Kangaroo Found in Tucson Hotel Lobby!’...  ’George Washington Is Alive!’ ...you get the picture (but hopefully not the paper!).  Everyone will groan and howl at the jokes.  The highlight comes when Lloyd has to jump from state to state to avoid arrest, trying not to get ’cornered’!  Of course, all ends well when our villain is defeated in the hilarious finale, and Aspen and Jack head down the wedding aisle.
